IN THE MAKER’S SPACE… It’s Physics! – Building Retro Toys
Before electronics, toys used physics to entertain. Collaborate with friends and family to build your own toys that WOW. Using basic physics principles, create spinners or Jacob’s ladders, balloon racers or amazing floating balls. Take them home and impress friends and family with your retro physics inspired toys.

IN THE DISCOVERY GALLERY… How Things Work: Engineering + Innovation
From concept to construction, visitors actively participate in STEAM education while learning about energy, motion, force, and other engineering concepts. Design, build, and test your ideas, solving problems and finding creative solutions along the way.
• Explore force, energy and motion through experiments with a giant Newton’s Cradle, magnetic ball/tube walls, pulley systems, catapults, parachutes and more. Six simple machines will interactively demonstrate concepts including levers, wheel and axle, inclined plane, pulley and screw.
• Delve into the artistry and innovation of engineering concepts and designs throughout history – from the pyramids of Giza to the International Space Station! Soak up the engineering brilliance of Leonardo da Vinci, Alexander Graham Bell, Gustave Eiffel, and Emily Warren Roebling, among others!

AM Workshop (10:30-Noon)
Family Music Sampling with Dakota Smith
This fun and dynamic digital music sampling workshop will explore how to layer sound to create your own music. Make songs come to life while working in a collaborative workshop setting. No experience is necessary for this on-the-spot rhythmic learning experience. Limited to 10 teams/ families of 2 people per team.

PM Workshop (1:00-2:30)
Mismatch Doll with Sonja Brooks
Quirky, funny, weird, strangely endearing and full of personality! These are the words to appropriately descibe the oddly shaped doll you will stitch together from fabric scraps and a few embellishments in this fun filled family oriented class.
