Makers & Mediums Art Market

Join us for the first installment of our monthly art market series here at The Living Arts & Science Center! “Makers & Mediums” focuses on accessible art purchasing, where no piece or item can be over $100, and creating less intimidating opportunities to buy art from local artists. This family-friendly event will feature 10-15 artists and vendors all across the LASC lawn with day-of discounted entry into the museum so you can explore, play, AND support creatives!

Gallery Hop | July 2026

Four galleries, one night, one location! Join us July 17th from 5-8 PM for our FREE monthly Gallery Hop, featuring 4 unique exhibitions from local artists.

Kinkead Gallery: "This Thing Is Garbage" - Meredith Coffey.
Works inspired by our convenience and excessiveness. Interact with the exhibit through "Give + Take," an ongoing clothing swap where you may drop up up to five items, and/or take up to five items of clothing. You do not have to give to take, and you do not have to take to give.

Glo Gallery: "Crystalbluffmadonna" - Hannah Smith.
Dada-inspired and digital fabrication informed, Hannah's work embraces absurdity, contradiction, and material transformation. Oversized jewelry-like forms stretch, puncture, and deform the gallery architecture, transforming it into something between a body, a construction site, and a cartoon.

Atrium Gallery: "Stories in Color" - Ken Burney
Burney is a contemporary visual artist whose work explores culture, movement, history, and personal narrative through bold color and expressive brushwork. "Stories in Color" represents Burney's ongoing commitment to visual storytelling. Each painting serves as a narrative fragment -- capturing emotion, memory, identity, music, and movement through layered color and expressive form.

Community Gallery: The Down Syndrome Association of Central Kentucky
The Down Syndrome Association of Central Kentucky is a registered 501(c)3) organization that has been helping and supporting families since 1993, when a small group of parents envisioned better opportunities for their children with Down syndrome. Today, that vision and our organization have expanded, enabling us to offer a range of programs and services completely free to our students and their families.

Thank you to LexArts & The Kentucky Arts Council for your support!
