Membership & Rental Coordinator
The Membership & Rental Coordinator at the Living Arts & Science Center (LASC) is a new position as we emerge from the Covid 19 pandemic. We are seeking a responsible and reliable professional to manage a variety of tasks including processing memberships, communicating with potential members, responding to rental inquiries, coordinating rental contracts and general administrative oversight. Approximately 20 hours per week. Flexibility of schedule with some night and weekend hours required. This position is partially funded by an Economic Recovery Grant. LEARN MORE AND APPLY HERE
STEM Discovery Educator
The STEM Discovery Educator at the Living Arts & Science Center (LASC) brings a vital science education perspective and the integration of science and art to diverse audiences. Approximately 20-25 hours per week. Flexible schedule including some night and weekend hours required. This position is partially funded by a grant from NASA Kentucky. LASC is the home of The Farish Planetarium, Lexington’s only planetarium. Planetary science, earth science, physics, technology and/or other scientific training and education are required. The Living Arts & Science Center seeks a candidate to take care of our 12 species of animals. Experience with aquatic animals and reptiles preferred. Part time, flexible schedule, approximately 6 to 8 hours per week spread over 3 days. Please send inquiries to email@example.com
Environmental Education Leadership AmeriCorps Position:
PART TIME: Art and Science Teachers
The Living Arts and Science Center (LASC) is accepting applications for part-time teachers. We have filled all of our open positions for this spring and summer, but welcome applications for additional opportunities and events. These are contractual positions with hours dependent on the number of classes and programs offered by the LASC each season. Minimum qualifications include: experience teaching and/or working with children, a bachelor’s or higher in Art, Science, or a related discipline, and/or significant professional experience in these fields.
The Living Arts & Science Center works with a large roster of creative educators in the arts and sciences. We will be offering a variety of in person AND virtual classes this spring and summer, allowing those outside of Fayette Co. or even Kentucky the opportunity to teach with us here at the LASC! If you are interested in teaching classes, leading fieldtrips, or presenting community programs in the arts or sciences, please fill out the application and return it with your resume.
