Art Galleries | Lennon Michalski: Pulp Abstraction in the Glo Gallery; Miniature Invitational in the Kinkead Gallery; Kentucky Wildlife Exhibition in the Atrium Gallery
Maker’s Space | The Science of Sound: Make a sound sandwich, tell secrets through the whisper tube, and create music with a set of singing rods. By the time you’re done, you’ll be an expert on sound and how we hear it.
Planetarium | 11am: One World, One Sky with Big Bird & Friends; 12:15pm + 1:15pm: Back to the Moon (included with admission)

Add an AM or PM workshop ($7 per person)

These workshops are designed to be enjoyed together with friends and family of all ages. The fourth Saturday of every month, a 90 minute AM and PM workshop will focus on topics such as comic drawing, trying you hand at the pottery wheel and much more. Workshops are led by our teaching artists or science educators and offer a great introduction to the LASC or a unique way entertain family and friends. Drop-ins welcome if space allows. Come early or stay late for a planetarium show and take in our art exhibits to complete the day.

AM Workshop 10:30 – noon | Making Music out of Fruit and Found Objects with Dakota Smith  | REGISTER HERE

Explore the wonders of making music on the fly out of everyday objects. Participants learn how to build layers of sound as we explore how looping and “random sounds” can be blended together to create lush soundscapes. Create your own songs in a fun, easy, and collaborative way. $7 with free admission.

PM Workshop 1:00 – 2:30 | Basic Drumming Techniques with Tripp Bratton | REGISTER HERE

Join in a family friendly  hand-drumming session. All skill levels welcome. Learn basic drumming techniques as well as the health benefits of communicating through ancient rhythms. Open the heart to higher vibrations allowing deep connections to the spirit and self. Come to connect with others and learn in an empowering environment. $7 with free admission.
