No School Day Classes: Science + Art Discovery Day

No School Day Classes (ages 3 to 18) | See class list and register here
When school is out, fun is in at the LASC. Students pre-school to high-school enjoy classes that spark their imagination in a fun, inspiring environment with first-class instruction. Full day and half day schedules available with AM and PM extended hours for your convenience. Lunch period is included for full day students, BYOL (bring your own lunch). Free time provided outdoors when weather permits.

Science + Art Discovery Day: Morning Session

Explore everything the Living Arts & Science Center has to offer in this jam-packed day of science and art. In the morning session we’ll take a guided tour of the hands-on discovery exhibit, Catching the Wind, learn about animal wings and flying things, and finish it off with a visit to the planetarium.

K – 12th grades | 9:00 – 12:00 PM | January 2 | $25 Regular / $20 Member

Science + Art Discovery Day: Afternoon Session

The afternoon session in this fun-filled day is all about the art. We’ll be diving into the beautiful world of photography with the Creative Camera Club’s annual exhibition on display throughout the building, playing games and going on a scavenger hunt. We’ll learn all about the art of collage, creating eye-catching collages based on portraits, still life, sports, and abstract images; all while investigating various collage artists, and discussing line, shape, pattern, repetition. Finishing it all off, we’ll be creating frames for or beautiful collages. Students will explore the LASC’s clay studio and make a ceramic frame for their amazing masterpiece.

K – 12th grades | 1:00 – 4:00 PM | January 2 | $25 Regular / $20 Member
