Summer Camp Week 10: August 4th-8th

Morning Meditation (LASC Morning Care)
Grades: K-12th

Summer Camp Week 10, August 4th-8th | K - 12th Grade | $50 ($45 Members) 

Need to drop off early? No problem, begin the day by joining our morning meditation starting at 8am. Students can enjoy activities such as yoga, stretching, getting your body moving and more all while under the stars in our planetarium. LASC staff will guide students to their classrooms at 8:45am.

Pre-K Book Club
Grades: Pre-K (ages 3-5)

Teacher: Grace Kistner | August 4th-8th, 9:00am - 12:00 pm | $200 ($175 Members)
Grades: Pre-K (ages 3-5) (Must be bathroom independent)

Immerse yourself in a week of literary adventures with our Pre-K Book Club. From creating fancy crowns and jewelry inspired by Fancy Nancy to crafting caterpillars and food art from The Very Hungry Caterpillar, each session sparks creativity. Join the imaginative play with mouse ears from If you Give a Mouse a Cookie and craft monkeys with yellow hats in our Curious George day. A class where literature meets art!

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide one peanut-free snack, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Recycled Fashion
Grades: K-2nd

Teachers: Hannah Yates & Ruth Cathey | August 4th-8th, 9:00am - 4:00pm | $350 ($325 Members)

Who wants to walk the runway? Get ready to unleash your inner designer in this exciting summer camp class! In Recycled Fashion, students will learn how to transform everyday recycled items into stylish, one-of-a-kind pieces. This class is all about creativity, sustainability, and fun! You’ll gain hands-on experience with basic sewing techniques and upcycling methods while exploring the world of eco-friendly fashion. Plus, we’ll dive into the importance of sustainability and how fashion can be part of the solution to environmental challenges. At the end of the camp, you’ll showcase your creations in a fun, fashionable runway show, where you can share your innovative designs with friends and family. Whether you’re passionate about fashion or just want to make a positive impact on the planet.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Music Mania
Grades: K-5th

Teacher: Will Padgett | August 4th-8th, 9:00am - 4:00pm | $350 ($325 Members)
Grades: K-5th grade 

Get ready to unleash your inner rock star, DJ, or composer in Music Mania! This high-energy class is perfect for campers of all musical interests and skill levels. Whether you love singing, playing instruments, or just want to learn the basics of music, this class has something for everyone. Campers will explore different musical genres, experiment with sound, and collaborate with friends to create their own original tunes. You’ll have the chance to try out instruments, learn rhythm techniques, experiment with ukulele cords and even create your very own cantar to take home. By the end of the session, you’ll have a jam-packed playlist of songs you’ve helped create and a new appreciation for the power of music!

Hand-Building Young Ceramicists
Grades: 3rd-5th

Teachers: Sophia Dominici | August 4th-8th, 9:00am - 4:00pm | $365 ($340 Members)
Grades: 3rd-5th grade 

Time to play in some clay! We will spend the week learning the fundamentals of hand-building ceramics pieces. From pinch pots to slab building, we will spend each day in the ceramics studio gaining more knowledge to become ceramic virtuosos! In addition, we will be learning about the artists that use these techniques as well as history about the practice. By the end of the week students will have multiple masterpieces ready for the kiln.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Clay Critters, Creatures, and Creations
Grades: 6th-8th

Teacher: Gaby Hoss | August 4th-8th, 9:00am - 4:00pm | $365 ($340 Members)

Welcome to Clay Creations, a fun and immersive summer camp where the wild world of wildlife, mythical beasts, and fantastic creatures come to life in clay! Whether you love animals, fantasy, mythical beings or all the above, this camp is your chance to sculpt and create using your imagination and artistic skills.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Learning Lounge Aftercare
Grades: K-12th

Summer Camp Week 10, August 4th-8th | K - 12th Grade | $50 ($45 Members)

Join LASC for the aftercare Learning Lounge. Students can enjoy supervised crafts, games, activities and recreation time after class. Students must be picked up by 5:30pm.
