The Fun-Stitute: Kids Classes

April 7th - 11th: Spring Break | Move to the Groove
Grades: K-5th

Teacher: Will Padgett | April 7th - 11th
Grades: K-5th

Let's get ready to move and groove! In this music and dance inspired class students will focus on learning tempo, rhythm, beat melody and more! Students will spend the morning with singing, telling stories, crafting and dancing. The afternoon will be spent with Mr. Will Padgett, a local musician who has been playing multiple instruments professionally for over 25 years. Students will experience a real life instrument petting zoo; getting to touch and try out professional real instruments. Students will also take part in group ukulele lessons and create their very own instruments to take home. 

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

April 7th - 11th: Spring Break | Tea Party
Grades: K-5th

Teacher: Leah Thompson | April 7th - 11th
Grades: K-5th

This class is an educational experience for students who love the clay studio. Everyone will get to try wheel throwing, handbuilding and more. All students will walk away with a tea set to take home. Imagine hosting your next tea party with handcrafted ceramics pieces you created. 

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

May 20th: Election Day | Civic Animals “Help LASC elect the next animal mayor”
Grades: K-5th

Teacher: Grace Kistner | May 20th
Grades: K-5th

Vote for Creativity: Art and Science in Action! In this class you’ll get to be a part of LASC’s first election to nominate an animal ambassador as mayor of LASC. Students will learn about what it means to be a good citizen and how the government works. We’ll discuss how leaders are chosen through elections, and the important job everyone has to help make their community a better place. 

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.
