Summer Camp Week 3: June 16th-20th

Morning Meditation LASC Morning Care
Grades: K-12th

Summer Camp Week 3, June 16th-20th | K - 12th Grade | $50 ($45 Members) 

Need to drop off early? No problem, begin the day by joining our morning meditation starting at 8 am. Students can enjoy activities such as yoga, stretching, getting your body moving, and more all while under the stars in our planetarium. LASC staff will guide students to their classrooms at 8:45 am.

Little Entomologists: “Bugs, Slugs, and other Creepy Crawlies”
Grades: Pre-K (ages 3-5)

Teacher: Meredith Coffey | June 16th-20th, 9:00am - 12:00 pm | $200 ($175 Members)
Grades: Pre-K (ages 3-5) (Must be bathroom independent)

Do you like bugs? In this class, we love bugs and insects too! Join us as we become entomologists for the week! We’ll explore different kinds of bugs, create goggles, magnifying glasses, and bug slime. Students will go on bug hunts and meet the live bugs and animals that live at LASC. We will learn the importance of looking and not harming our new friends.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide one peanut-free snack, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Junior Detective
Grades: K-2nd

Myrtle the Turtle has gone missing at the LASC! We need your help solving the mystery of who took the turtle. Using the techniques that detectives and forensic scientists use, your student will unravel the mystery of the turtle snatching. Students will learn and put to action using evidence, critical thinking and analysis skills. This is just one animal case that needs to be solved. Join us to see who else needs our help.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Food or Fake CLASS FULL
Grades: K-5th

Teachers: Hannah Jones & Hannah Yates | June 16th-20th, 9:00am - 4:00pm | $365 ($340 Members)

Cooking and Sculpture in the same class, who would have thought! In this class, students will take a deep dive into learning basic cooking skills and then take it a step further by creating fun food sculptures. Students will learn to bake and cook simple meals that their whole family can enjoy for dinner. Students will also spend some of the afternoons learning to work with paper mache and plaster. They will be creating 3D sculptures in the representation of REAL food items. Don't miss the ultimate food challenge. Is it real or fake?

Music Mania
Grades: 3rd-5th

Get ready to unleash your inner rock star, DJ, or composer in Music Mania! This high-energy class is perfect for campers of all musical interests and skill levels. Whether you love singing, playing instruments, or just want to learn the basics of music, this class has something for everyone. Campers will explore different musical genres, experiment with sound, and collaborate with friends to create their own original tunes. You’ll have the chance to try out instruments, learn rhythm techniques, experiment with ukulele cords and even create your very own cantar to take home. By the end of the session, you’ll have a jam-packed playlist of songs you’ve helped create and a new appreciation for the power of music!

Throw some Clay
Grades: 6th-8th

Teachers: Marianne Brown & Sophia Dominici  | June 16th-20th, 9:00am - 4:00pm | $365 ($340 Members)
Grades: 6th-8th grade 

Are you ready to play in some clay? In this class, students will learn all things ceramics by two of our wonderful clay instructors, Marianne Brown and Sophia Dominichi. Join us as we explore different techniques of forming clay by hand and exploring wheel throwing. Using patterns and textures form in clay students will have the opportunity to create their own cups, bowls, mugs, vases and more!

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Learning Lounge: LASC Aftercare
Grades: K - 12th

Summer Camp Week 3, June 16th-20th | K - 12th Grade | $50 ($45 Members)

Join LASC for the aftercare Learning Lounge. Students can enjoy supervised crafts, games, activities and recreation time after class. Students must be picked up by 5:30pm.
