Summer Camp Week 8: July 21st-25th

Morning Meditation (LASC Morning Care)
Grades: K-12th

Summer Camp Week 8, July 21st-25th | K - 12th Grade | $50 ($45 Members)

Need to drop off early? No problem, begin the day by joining our morning meditation starting at 8am. Students can enjoy activities such as yoga, stretching, getting your body moving and more all while under the stars in our planetarium. LASC staff will guide students to their classrooms at 8:45am.

Out of this World
Grades: Pre-K (ages: 3-5)

Teacher: Grace Kistner | July 21st-25th, 9:00am - 12:00 pm | $200 ($175 Members)
Grades: Pre-K (ages 3-5) (Must be bathroom independent)

Blast off into a week of cosmic creativity and intergalactic fun! From astronaut training simulations to galactic scavenger hunts, every activity is designed to spark curiosity and imagination. By the end of the week campers will have a collection of out-of-this-world creations and memories that are truly stellar!

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide one peanut-free snack, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Monster Mash
Grades: K-2nd

Let’s all do the Monster Mash! Calling all artists, join LASC for this spooktacular adventure in clay. Students will get their hands dirty shaping and sculpting your very own quirky, fun, and monstrous creations out of clay! Whether you're a beginner or an experienced young artist, you'll learn the basics of ceramics, from molding and glazing to firing your masterpieces.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Under the Sea
Grades: K-5th

Teacher: Amy Schmidt | July 21st-25th, 9:00am - 4:00pm | $350 ($325 Members)
Grades: K-5th grade 

Get ready to set sail on an ocean adventure as we learn all about the ocean and conservation! Join us to learn about your favorite sea creatures, the place they call home, and how we can work together to protect them! In this class we will create beautiful works of art and conduct awesome science experiments, it really is the best of both worlds!

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Map Madness
Grades: 3rd-5th

Teacher: Sophia Dominici  | July 21st-25th, 9:00am - 4:00pm | $350 ($325 Members)
Grades: 3rd-5th grade 

Calling all young explorers and cartographers, spend the week at LASC learning everything you need to know to become a mapping extraordinaire! Students will learn how map compasses work, go over different types of maps and also create their very own maps. Students will explore the stars in LASC’s Farish Planetarium and solve the hidden landmark scavenger hunt! Not only will students make maps of real life places, they can also create their very own fantasy maps of the lands and constellations of their dreams. At the end of the week students will be expert explorers with several maps to take home and on their future adventures.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Food or Fake
Grades: 6th-8th

Grades: 6th-8th grade 

Cooking and Sculpture in the same class, who would have thought! In this class, students will take a deep dive into learning basic cooking skills and then take it a step further by creating fun food sculptures. Students will learn to bake and cook simple meals that their whole family can enjoy for dinner. Students will also spend some of the afternoons learning to work with paper mache and plaster. They will be creating 3D sculptures in the representation of REAL food items. Don't miss the ultimate food challenge. Is it real or fake?

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Learning Lounge LASC Aftercare
Grades: K-12th

Summer Camp Week 8, July 21st-25th | K - 12th Grade | $50 ($45 Members)

Join LASC for the aftercare Learning Lounge. Students can enjoy supervised crafts, games, activities, and recreation time after class. Students must be picked up by 5:30 pm.
